I get paid on the 31st too. I have £18.37 in my account before I go into overdraft territory, so I tried to withdraw £15 out of the ATM but it wouldn't let me - had to make do with a tenner.0

That's a right pain vyvyan. I wish cashpoints would dispense £5 notes. Sometimes a fiver is all you need.0

My OH and i both get paid around the 25th of each month, and have standing orders set up to transfer to our joint account. This doesn't normally clear until about the 5th of the following month (has anyone else noticed the bank makes lots of money each month off everyones money, when it disappears into the ether for a few days during a transfer!!! ).
Becasue of this, we count the 5th/6th as our pay day.
It was hard for the first month, but has actually worked really well, and we find that we don't stress about pay day so much now.
That could also be due to the fact that we know we dont have much to spare most times anyway, so there is no point getting excited!!!!! And combining our money has meant we can clear our debts more effectively. (It means neither of us is struggling silently on our own anymore - joint effort/support)
Roll on Feb/March when we don't have to pay council tax!!!!!
Means we can tax the car - what simple pleasures we debt free wannabe's have to look forward to!!!!! :rotfl:What's he building in there???
Debt at highest £30,450 (Dec 05)
Debt at lowest £9, 113 (Jul 07)
How much did we over spend whilst on maternity leave :mad:0 -
That's what I did this morning was tax the car. Luckily as my mum doesn't drive and I take her shopping every week she paid my tax for me. That saved me £190. She's a darling she does it every year for me.
WIth my Council Tax money for the next 2 months I'm going to pay it off my argos card. That's the plan anyway.0 -

Oh lucky you. I'd be so much better if I had access to one of those. Used to be so much better when the children were young. I had to pass the Halifax every day taking them to school and I could just draw out what I needed. Now I draw out of the cashpoint for the week and spend it all on one day, hence why I'm posting here! Am getting much more strict now (New Year's resolution) and have great joy in seeing how much I don't spend every day.0
