Have you all noticed that there are a lot of posts on here regarding worries on payday which is this week and panicking already... So difficult isn't it. I agree with a lot of people. Just after christmas I don't think anyone is on the straight and narrow until at least March. What gets at me is all the holiday info on the t.v. at the moment... If only

I am counting down the days until pay-day, it's been a looooong month. I didn't even have an extravagant Christmas but it all mounts up doesn't it...Debt at highest May 2006: £27,472.24

I agree. My husband gets paid weekly but it's still a long one as I have one more council tax bill to pay. I was very careful this week on food shopping, and I done pretty well. We only spent £350.00 on three little kiddies this year as we where determined not to spend on the old plastic, thank god ( cut up now anyway ). If we haven't got it I won't break the bank for the latest toy for one of them. Few of my husbands working colleagues borrowed so much money for christmas just to see them through... No chance. Mine was great, thankfully are still young enough that we can get away with it. They got so much pens and pencils I have had to put two bag fulls in the cupboard for rainy days. We had an excellent time though:A Tomorrow's just another day - keep smiling0 -
See, at least you didn't borrow anything to get through Christmas. I'm proud of the fact that I didn't hammer my credit cards as I usually would have done so even though I'm broke I haven't added to my debt. It was our last child-free Christmas as our first baby is due in the next 2 weeks but I'm going to try to keep to this every year now- little children seem to be happy enough with small things rather than flash pressies.Debt at highest May 2006: £27,472.24

Well I suppose I'm very lucky in the sense that my employers realised that if they paid us in January when they were supposed to, it would be a long month!
So what they did they paid us 5 weeks after december's paydate and then will pay us 5 weeks after January's paydate - so as february is a short month, things will be back to normal by then.2014 Target;

I don't get paid until wednesday next week either. This has been excruciating and I feel I haven't really spent anything, although did have a funeral to attend so bought flowers and had to travel a distance so these unexpected expenses do crop up.
Thought I'd cracked it this month but having a real issue with paypal as I've tried to change my surname due to marriage and after having my request for 2 weeks now have asked for a copy of my marriage certificate.
So angry I could cry, so now a further delay and I will have incurred my usual £90.00 going overdrawn fee to Natwest.
I will be very glad to see the back of January.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

I have found this month the toughest since starting the DMP
DH gets paid weekly,but because of christmas there has been no overtime :mad: normally he brings home around £500/week,but since the beginning on December,when they started to wind down,he has only bought home £306/week,this is still the case and won't improve until 2 weeks when the new orders are sorted.We are basically £1400 down on our income.Things are bad this week though as car tax is due,but have used money to fund the shortfall,extra £100 payment on utilities is due 1st Feb,I don't have it and to top the lot,I am £4.83 short of all the DDs that will come out on the 1st :mad: going to do what anniestar did and search in all pockets and down the sofa to see if I can find any money,fingers crossed
