Well done. R02 is fun. Make sure your calculator can do "to the power of" calculations or is a financial calculator.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. Well done for passing. I failed by 1 mark!
I thought long and hard on the drive down. Having seen the 4 questions where I got less than 50% marks, I have paid the £75 fee and asked them to remark it. I got the impression the remark people are more qualified and perhaps take a less than model answer approach.
Anyway, that will teach me for leaving the exam an hour early! I will let you know how I get on. I hope they can squeeze one more mark from somewhere!0 -
I originally failed R02 by 10 marks. I couldn't believe it, so I sent it for re-marking, as I was sure that I'd aced it.
The guy at the CII told me not to bother with the re-mark, as they never get turned around that much and to accept my fail. No chance sunshine!
I paid my £75, waited a couple of months for the review, which came back as a pass mark. They wouldn't tell me the new mark, but said that it was "in excess of 65%". Considering the pass mark is 55% and they said I had failed, to then say that I had passed with over 65%, the first marker was out by 17%.......
And they tried to talk me out of reviewing. Ridiculous. Losing faith with the CII, but the IFS is a mockery of a qualification, so limited options.I am an Independent Financial AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as an Independent Financial Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Last time around 3 colleges of mine had remarks 4 fail max, 2 overturned including the 4 fail answer.
I have heard they have 15 mins per paper and literally scan read the answers!
I also agree CII is not the best route but the alternative is even worse, so best of a bad bunch really.
I sat it in London and was amazed at the volume of people sitting over 300 at £110 a pop, a great not for profit organisation;)0 -
