Most of the IFAs i know are not sitting R06 but doing (or have done) one of the J0x exams instead (j05 seems to be most popular). So, can't help I'm afraid.

I sat (and passed) it earlier this year, so I might be able to help a little, but I don't have the current factfinds or anything.

  • I passed the Level 4 Diploma through IFS at the beginning of the year. It carries all the RDR requirements but i'm not sure how it compares to the RO6. If I can be of any help let me know.

The ifs Diploma is a blight on the qualifications landscape, and I have no idea at all how it came to have level 4 status.

As to R06, get in touch with Aviva. They have learning centres up and down the country delivering presentations and classes for people on what questions the expect will come up from the case studies. I used them when I was doing some R0 exams for gap-fill in the summer and they were excellent.

I saw money marketing academy sent out an email yesterday saying they had R06 case studies related stuff added. You may want to check that out.

I have friends who have sat this qualification and compared to the exams I have been sitting and passing it seems like a walk in the park!

He could not believe the level of detail R02 investments went into, for me the IFS seems more like the CF/Cefa papers?

Indeed. And a case study element that other people do on behalf of the candidate.......

    Really robust ifs....well done. Not.
