Kaspersky or Avast?

Hi all, I have another silly question for you!
I currently have Avast on my netbook and also on my hubby's pc. When I logged into Barclays internet banking something caught my eye about free kaspersky but I did not have time to read it fully. I can't get logged on at the moment so can't check it. Does anyone know if this is a full version, ie not a 3 month trial? Also is it the Kaspersky internet security or just anti virus and lastly will it install on both machines? I'm sure I have read before that it is a very good programme and wondered whether to take advantage of it and use it instead of Avast?
TIA

as you bank with barclays you get 3 licenses for kaspersky per year. works on 2012 edition also. (yes internet suite) so may as well switch0

I have use this offer in the pat, renews each year.
Full suite AV & Internet.
I ditched and switched to AVAST as it "seemed" to be slowing down my PC (before I increased the RAM).
It did isolate and remove some gremlins that AVG didn't seem to be able to resolve."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

I used to use Avast but switched to Microsoft Security Essentials - recommended by someone I trust as less resource heavy, but just as good.
Switching can be a pain because you need to evict the previous package - none of these packages run well together.
So it might be just as easy to stick with Avast.0 -

Who was your source? Perhaps you need another,0 -

I use Kaspersky and there's no obvious slowing down - the only issue is that it really doesn't like Apple updates so if you have an iPhone you have to switch Kaspersky off while the update downloads!xxx Nikki xxx0

I have the freebie from Barclays too - 3 licences is handy for every puter in the house. This latest version is much better than previous ones, which DID slow down the system. Dont notice this one running at all now.
It is the full KIS - internet security system, so make sure you disabled any other AV/firewall you have. And yes, its the complete program, which you can renew through barclays every year free.0 -

£6.99 on eBay deals for 1 year licence and 3 computers.
had a problem installing on my two computers but it installed in safe mode ok.0 -
I went from Avast to Kaspersky because my pc developed a virus/trojan issue and I just could not resolve it, eventually on this forum a chap from the virus vault who was helping me advised to switch to a pay for Anti virus package (you get what you pay for) Kaspersky was one of the options, I paid for it and ran it for a year then found that my Bank Barclays give it to you free. All that said Kaspersky is very very good."Imagination is more Important than knowledge"0
