Strange Claim on home insurance

That's fine, but if you state you work in the industry and post as if what you say is conclusive, many people will take that as read.
There are more than 200 Home insurance policies available in the market, so even if you have access to 20, you are only covering 10% of the market. Don't be put off posting though! You just need to add a qualifying remark rather than saying 'not covered'.0 -
ADC - tell the truth. It's not worth lying over a little thing anyway.
One day you may require the insurance company to give you the benefit of the doubt over something much more major and that is not the time for them to review your record and consider that perhaps you don't deserve to be treated generously.
I think too many small claims are made by people which don't really need to be made - insurance is supposed to cover the major incidents that you couldn't possibly bear the financial cost of if the worst should happen, not be regarded as a 'savings' plan.
It's a common belief that if you have paid premiums 'all my life' on a property policy, that somehow, there should be a 'pay-back' on all that money you have put in - which conveniently ignores the fact that the insurance has provided cover all that time for maximum loss if that occurred... it don't work like that.0 -
I've got to make a similar embarassing choice. Our dog poo'ed on my son's laptop. We've home and pet insurance but aren't certain of the best way forward. Would that come under the 'things pets do that humans could also? ;-)0

Hope you have better luck than me. The pet insurance doesn't cover damage to our property and the household insurance excludes damage caused by family pets. Classic 'Catch 22' I think!0
