Ask Vodafone to unlock it first ... if it is locked. I think they don't charge. Makes the phone more saleable.

the mobile was bought from mobiles.co.uk, part of the cpw family and is factory unlocked

so i can sell the mobile at anytime within the contract period, and obviously continue to pay the monthly line rental??

Abolutely - the handset is an inducement, and remains your property as soon as you got it. As long as you pay for the SIM and the ongoing service, the network has no lien on the phone.
  • I did exactly this, Vodafone customer service wouldnt accept there was a problem with iphones, Apple did and swopped it twice. Wanted a different phone. CPW bought it from me and sold me a phone that actually worked. Kept paying my contract, it expires soon then bibi vodafone.
