many thanks. Anyone know if Santander accept them paid in - definately gives me some more options.

Have already been approved for both and M&S card and and cap 1 cashback so would the following scenario work

pay for holiday on capital one to get the cash back
buy the travellers cheques on M&S card and pay into current account
repay capital one using the travellers cheques in current account and pay off the m&s card over 15 months

Would I also get the m&s points or are they exempt?

    Have I understood this correctly?

I'm sure I've seen it posted on here very recently that they don't, but do a search for yourself to be sure.

Yes, other than you won't get reward points for buying currency/travellers cheques...or at least you didn't the last twice I exploited this loophole.
  • Thanks for that

Anyone know if Santander or Halifax allow the travellers cheques to be paid in?

I just put "Santander travellers cheque" in the forum search tool box (top right of the screen) and it returned this thread (which backs up my earlier thoughts)...

Maybe you could try the same for Halifax?

But to be honest your best approach would be to ask them directly. Suggest you tell them you were going to Gibralter (or somewhere else you'd need Sterling TCs) by way of explanation.
