in Credit cards
Hi there,
I am wanting to go and get the M&S credit card and then take out some travellers cheques and pay them into my current account.
But this seems impossible  As both Santander and Nationwide have said this is not possible, I have yet to check with barclays though.
So how can I get this to work? As surely if say my dad came over from Ireland and decided to get some travellers cheques but got too much out and wanted to put it back in his account he should be able to?
Or is it that you can only pay in the cheques to the account you withdrew them from??
All help much appreciated.

Nationwide must have changed their policy, because I've previous banked Sterling TCs there...albeit 2-3 years ago now.
LTSB also accepted them around the same time...and even cleared them for cash the same day!
There's a long running thread on the stoozing website with many banks mentioned. Maybe you'll find some good news there?0 -
Barclays definitly allow travellers cheque (well did 7 months ),not sure what the other banks policys are but usually its treated as a standard cheque but can be drawed upon.0

You may be able to pay them in like any other cheques but most banks won't 'cash' them unless you hold an account.
This is to do with many fraudulent TC's in circulation.0
