Autoglass requesting £££!!!

My windscreen cracked on Wednesday whilst on the way to work. My colleagues informed me to phone AutoGlass as I didn't have to pay and they would contact my insurers etc.
When I told AutoGlass who my insurers were, they said that they were not my insurers' approved repairers. They could do the job but I would have to pay them (£680) and then submit the invoice to my insurers for reimbursement.
As it turned out AutoWindshields are my insurers approved repairers.
If you told Autoglass who your insurers were and they still went ahead and did the job, then (maybe) you have a lifeline.0 -
Hi.....my name is Emma, I am a representative from Autoglass. We are really sorry to read of your experience. We would really like to speak with you and help get this resolved. Could you please email your details to customerservicehelp@autoglass.co.uk .Hi all,
Hoping you can assist.
I had Autoglass come out back in July to fix my broken rear window and when the guy asked for my insurance, I handed him over my documents. He then went back in his van made a few calls and noted down some details. He then said I only need to pay £75 and got the job done, signed some documents and off he went.
However, I have now recently received a letter stating my insurance did not cover job done and now want payment in full which is £700 +.
Is this right, can they do that and if that was the case I would have not allowed him to do job.
Is there anything I can do??:(
Thank you.0 -
