Hi
I rang them yesterday, unfortunately I could not find an alternative number that put me trhru to the right dept so had to ring 08703202020 @ 7p a min.
I had read an article by someone saying they had managed to get two free months out of AOL so had joined them hoping to do the same. But when I said I wanted to cancel the woman just said fine and gave me a cancellation number?!?!
I was disappointed as I wasn't expecting it.
Now I am without internet (am over a mates house) and I'm looking for a cheap provider to reconnect asap. Just a cheap dial up would do for now. If anyone has any suggestions let me know.
By the way the woman at AOL said that there is a box which pops up when you try to connect to AOL after cancellation which helps you to reactivate your account. (very crafty!) But if you do you are charged straight away then. Just hope noone presses this as all my family use the computer. Next job is to see how easy it is to uninstall all the AOL stuff so that this doesn't happen!!!!
I'll let you know if they try to take payment now I've cancelled.
Good luck!0
