With amateur radio gear, if that 30 year old radio isn't in the original box and the box isn't in mint condition, people won't want to know. There are some really sad pathetic people out there.
  • Keep the boxes until you decide to sell your phones - you'll get more that way. I never understand why / how people lose / throw away the boxes and bits for their phones - I keep every last bit down to the little plastic bags (maybe it's just me :)).

Nope it's not just you. I'm the same!!! I'm using the same Blackberry charger that came with my 8900 Curve. When I sold it I had a brand new still tied up charger, earpiece/headphones. I also changed the facia and track ball to blue and sold it on ebay for £120.

Can never understand people selling to the likes of Mazuma mobile when you can get more money elsewhere.

Me too!, yep, why use your new charger when there's nowt wrong with old one. Keep every single bag, now matter how small, and even try to keep the ties around the cables if poss. I keep the original screen protectors in place for as long as I can as well. I have a loft full of used, but 'as new' boxed gadgets.
  • our phones pass down through the family, as we get a new one every two years on contract, we keep the new ones

our grown up kids get our old ones, and the younger kids get the oldest of the lot ect...

so a phone will have a 6-8 year life with our family, we then pass them on to a charity who uses them for it's homeless clients, to help them find a job and have a way of reaching there adviser and mentor.

so as you can see, we really don't need to keep the boxes
  • Empty boxes can be used to convince foolish people that they are getting a bargain Theres another thread on here about people being offered x boes and suchlike which turn out to be worthless boxes.

They can also be used to fake things. A simple white metal bracelet for instance in an official Pandora box suddenly becomes 'Pandora' when listed. That's why ebay usually pull auctions for all these items when reported.

I keep all my boxes, Old phones either get passed through the family or relegated to occasional use when
we are doing activities that may break them.

Got phones over 5 years old that still have the original plastic on the screen that protect them in the box.

Loft full of boxes from the kids toys, Probably worthless now, But maybe in 50 years?

  • Wait until you see how much empty boxes for watches can go for!

    Have a look at http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280763501498
That's one I've never seen on a listing before, 'from a child free environment'
