I have noticed that some ebay sellers are reserving stock when it's on offer and then selling the reservation number! This weekend there are loads of vtech innotab reservation numbers for sale..... so that might account for some stuff not being in stock (Argos have been made aware of it BTW). Unscrupulous people taking advantage!

this seems pointless as when you reserve an item its reserved at a specific store for 24 hours only, before being placed back on general sale

I thought it was just me! Their Value clock for a fiver with the silver facade - literally never been in stock since a month after the Autumn/Winter catalogue was released and I've searched several branches online, I've given up, if I still want one I'll head to a supermarket.

    if you mean

Argos Value Range Plastic Quartz Wall Clock - White. sku: 623/5329 its currently £2.99 and is available in my 3 nearest stores and for home delivery

    or
Wall Clock - Chrome. sku: 623/2748 £4.99 this is also available as above

Isn't this how business works? You sell something for more than you buy it and make a profit. Doesn't seem unscrupulous to me.
  • the cynic in me does think that many of these almost too good to be true offers are just to get you inside so you buy a higher priced item when you find the one you came in for is not in stock because there were only one or two examples to begin with.

perhaps i'm just being too cynical though
Come on, it's not rocket surgery is it?

    no its not

when you buy anything wholesale it will come in a box of 6, 12, 24, 36 now when that box is empty guess what the stock is gone, nothing the retailer can do if they only purchased 1 box.

again *while stocks last* is their for a purpose if you want a special offer item get their early in the promotion to get 1

Mmm. A first time poster slagging off a major company. There's a shock. :)

Anyway I had a poke around on the Argos offers website and all of the ones I tried were in stock!

So Argos offers are in stock.

Strange i did the same thing and guess what all were in stock.

that reminds me i have to pick up an offer item tomorrow as they never had this in on Thursday, but i had to reserve for pickup Monday

Like I said, perhaps I'm just being cynical.

(also you keep saying 'their' when 'there' is the word you're looking for, easy mistake made by a lot of people though just in case you want to alter it in future but if not no biggie, just letting you know!)
