  • My DD is 7 now and I have always padded her stocking out with a banana and a satsuma ........ it's quite funny now that she's older as she hates oranges, and can't understand why Santa keeps putting an orange in their, she's convinced he must know she hates them :rotfl:

This really made me smile! I wish I was small again as little things made me so happy so easily back then!

The funny thing is that my mum only put the crisps in to bulk out the stocking. We were having a discussion about Christmas stockings a year or so ago and she told me that was why she put them in.
  • I found Artbox absolutely great for stocking filler things for my dd last year, they do loads of cute, inexpensive bits and pieces that are perfect for stockings :)

I always put new knickers and some Christmassy slipper socks in too, and a christmas balloon, and my two also love glow-sticks so I'm going to bung some of those in, I also usually put in a little wind up toy of some kind so they can race them... Oh and always those temporary tatoos!!

    Happy shopping!

I have made my children a hot choc hamper cheap mug/mini whisk/choc sprinkles/sachet etc could be made for a small amount

thanks for that loopylass I don't do stockings for the grandchildren but usually give them a Christmas carrier full of papers ,pens paints etc.The grandson is almost 16 and I put slabs of chocolate and multi packs of chewing gum in his, heaven knows what else at his age,but grandaughter is 10 and I could fill several bags for her.But I love the hot chocolate hamper idea and I'm sure she will too.
One thing that bulks out is the bottles of paint from Asda or the range, they do all colours and sparkly gold and silver g/daughter loves 'em

For your 16 year old grandson you could put things like hat/gloves/ ive done a joke hamper for my 14 year old cheaply from ebay as his a bit of a joker/ diary/cash box(like to have their own personal place for things) hair gel, phone sock, headphones for phone, anything sporty boot bag/water bottle/football socks/wrist wallet/sweat bands/smellies (tesco has half price lynx sets £2.50)gaming magazine xbox or ps3 or whatever he has, cheap dvds, u can get a joke asbo on ebay and choose what ones like he has got an asbo as he has a bad hair day

    hope that helps

if u find a cheap dvd maybe do a hamper with popcorn etc im doing that as well but instead of a dvd i have got a cineworld voucher for them each

I am so glad I found this thread, given me loads of ideas to pad out my children stockings, who are 7,. 9 &11.

My 11yr old ds is lego mad, so those mini figures for £1.95 will be added, also some playmobil mini figures will also be added, along with a few packets of trading cards.

A big hit last year was a wwe bumper pack from the entertainer for £2.99 and in there was a folder to put the cards in, and 10 packets of cards, (they also did and still do girly ones), this is still going strong a whole year on....

eBay has lots of lego type gifts like USB sticks, CD, balloons, candles, headphones and MP3 player etc :)

Awesome :D It takes a while but a general 'lego' search & a bit of time on eBay throws up all sorts :) Keyings, cufflinks, jewellery, books - even shoes :)

If you're buying from overseas, get buying them in the next few days as it takes a good month to come over and obviously with the Christmas post, the weather and the fact there's now less than 6 weeks.... don't want you to be disappointed :)
