I do hope these improvements will eventually arrive.... halifax online banking is in desperate need of some improvements and a face lift.....

I disagree, out of the 3 online banks I use (Lloyds, A+L and Halifax)
Halifax comes out tops the sign in is safer than the Lloyds one which with a camara and a bit of time you could see all the letter combos to gain access plus it always works from start to finish never mixing the sequence, Then there is your daily spending, on Halifax you can see what you have spent straight away by Taking your over draft off your avalible balance and taking off current balance the difference is what you have spent that day. where as Lloyds and A&L keep you in the dark for 2 to 3 days with no way of working it out if some of the other players took not of the current Halifax online banking it would be a better standard all round, plus remembering a usernameis alot easyer than a 14 digit customer number that they give you on a v.secure piece of card for your wallet at Lloyds A+L.

    Am I ranting?

    Sorry
Thought I saw the light at the end of the tunnel....Then got hit by a train! :A

I have to disagree with you here, I have used Halifax online for years and I have never had any problems what so ever. Its very easy to use, customer friendly and certainly easy on the eyes.

That's happened to me a few times - luckily not when I've had anything urgent to do. I've usually waited until the next day for it to work again.

I too am a fan of the Halifax online banking system. Much better than Lloydstsb. Agree with another poster easier to remember user name than 14 digit sign on. It's easy and straight forward to use so I can't really see the problem.

Fully agree .. used it since it first became available and find it really excellent.

Sole minor irritation is that you can't order the accounts to suit. So ISAs / Regular Savers / Web Savers are ordered in date of opening order - which is a bit of a jumble. Would prefer to group each type together - but you can't do that, nor in the long awaited new system!

So will just have to remain irritated ... in a minor manner. That apart it's really good.

I like it most of the time but what I hate is that when you delete a payee, it doesn't actually get deleted from the account for about a year. Having tarted around a few 0% cards, I've had to add and delete lots of payees and have now run out of spaces, so I can't add any more - even though I've deleted some. Apparently there is nothing that can be done about this and I just have to wait until they drop off

  • Blimey remind me not to move to lloydstsb if their online banking is worse than halifax. I bank with Barclays and Halifax and Barclays online banking is lightyears ahead of the Halifax system.
  • i think its pretty good - secure enough and organised enough and i feel comforted to know i have access to my statements in a very straightforward way. never really had a problem with the online thing, its the real life bank that is usually a problem for me! :s
