I just love surprises, I have to say my OH is extremely generous and I do get spoilt for Christmas and my Birthday etc. I don't like giving a list as then I'd know what I'm getting. Mind you the moment I know he's bought something I ask questions, and then when he looks like he's gonna cave and tell me what it is I run from the room with my hands on my ears screaming 'I don't want to know'!

Ha that is me too!! I do love a surprise - and he knows that - but he does still ask me what I'd like. Lol we play '20' questions with our gifts lol on the understanding that we won't actually get close enough to guess what we've got. Lol which kinda defeats the object cause we'll deliberately lie to keep each other off the scent lol.

I just love the look on his face when I've bought him something and he genuinely is chuffed. Unlike last year when we had opened all our presents and he'd gone to the kitchen to get more bucks fizz and I quickly put on the sexy santa outfit I'd bought and went outside to ring the door bell (waiting in 3in of snow for him to come to the door). He opened the door and no word of a lie I thought he was going to pass out laughing. He was rolling on the hall floor. I had a pizza box with with tickets to Rome in as an additonal present and he totally didn't notice as he couldn't stop laughing at me dressed as santa delivering a pizza. That so didn't go to plan.....

    What a brilliant Christmas!!! :T

It might be a funny story but those would be some fun memories for him :D

Just had a wave of inspiration - okay not for MrD but for his sister and her family. If he agrees I'm going to create a set of 4 mugs each with a baby photo of them on. They are all really big hot drink drinkers so they will definitely get used and they can each have their own mug with a photo of them on. Hurrah!

Just trying to think of presents for Mums now! Got my Dad's idea (local brewery tour tickets), and FiL2b idea (milk frother jug to go with other present from SiL2b), but Mums are really hard! I always struggle with them! We are travelling in from Budapest as well, so can't even make anything!

What are you guys getting Mums?

We set a limit and swore to stick by it for a start. £30.
Then we both made up Amazon wish lists of various items that we would like, and then were able to buy a few gifts each from the list and once we'd ordered for each other we could then send the list to anyone else who asked for ideas!
So I got him the two latest Jonathan Creek specials on DVD. Stand By Me, The Fugitive and L.A. Confidential on Blu-Ray.
(Then put the DVD versions of each movie up on Amazon to sell!)
    November £5 a day challenge: £223.16/£150
    December £10 a day challenge: £279.00/£310
Started comping too - no luck yet!

Ha ha...good question lol. Unfortunately no.....32:rotfl:

It's ok....i am going to disguise it by putting it in a bigger box so that when he sees his presents, there are no game shaped ones. How mean I am :T

were not going mad this year either, all the spare cash is going to the wedding, ive half a mind to tell family if they want to get us something just give us cash to go towards the wedding but the kid in me wants pressies*stamps feet* and i dont want them to think they have to contribute in a big way ie if they normally get us a bottle of wine just give us a fiver but i dont know how to word that with out sounding crass!
im getting h2b something to do with fishing, he has told me whait is but i sort of glaze over when he starts talking about fishing, cant think why though ;)
I am not bossy I just have better ideas:p
  • We don't need or want anything really - so we've booked a trip to Amsterdam in February for our Christmas presents. Might spend £10 on something for him to open - but we normally end up with bits of stuff we don't really want, so this is much better for us!
