Christmas Pressies

I thought it'd be nice to share ideas about what we're planning to get our fiance/fiancee/wife/husbands for Christmas.

So far I have planned to get him some new knee sliders (he races motorbikes) and Alan Partridge's autobiography. But now I'm stuck - and he's useless - says he doesn't want anything.

So come on share your ideas.

No idea!! We are actually going to Budapest just before Xmas, so we said we weren't going to do anything big. But I can't even think of small bits for him to unwrap! He says he doesn't want anything either.... And his bday is on Friday, so any ideas I had I have already used!

Realise that doesn't help.... But you are not alone!! :D

MrsDrink you have given me an idea! OH and I want to do scuba too (I know you do scuba diving), and whenever we go down the coast do sea kayaking and stuff, but always borrow wetsuits n rash vests etc. I will get him those!

I have a question tho, where did you get your wetsuits from, and does a diving wetsuit differ so much and is it important?

:T yay another diver (to-be anyway).
I am so not an expert. I just went to my local dive shop and asked for their advice. Could have got them cheaper online but I wanted their advice. Our suits are W2 by Waterproof (lol at the moment they are hung up on the lounge doors - lol haven't got anywhere to hang them yet!)

Mmm difference between diving suits and windsurfing type ones? I guess it's like asking how long a piece of string is. A basic wetsuit does the same job regardless. It's designed to trap a layer of water that your body heats up and that then insulates you and keeps you warm. You get different thicknesses (ours are 5mm), and you'd have to decide on the length (we got full length instead of shorties). Ours have extra long cuffs that double back to reduce 'flush' (where the water from the sea flushes out the trapped water layer). We were diving maximum of 18m in Tenerife over half term. The bottom of the sea was 22/23 deg C. And after around 30 mins at the bottom I started to notice the chill of the water - I wasn't cold, but it's something to be aware of. The thicker the neoprene the more space for it to trap more water (in all the airspaces in the neoprene).

A few features that our suits have that I really like: grips on the bum. So when we're sat in wet wetsuits on the side of pools/boats/anything slippery we are more stable. The knees on our suits have a rubbery/plastic knee/shin pad things - a little bit more protection of we're on our knees on the sea bed. (There are nasties out there that can sting and puncture).

Lol no idea if that helps at all.

    COD for the xbox

:T Have added that to the list of possibilities! Thanks!
(I didn't realise there was a new one out - lol then again maybe I *shouldn't* get him it - that way I won't be a COD widow again lol)

  • No idea.

Its his bday next Sun and I ended up buying a 2nd hand iphone off his mate as an early bday pressie for him due to him breaking his mobile (screen bled and damaged everything underneath).

I've also bought him a new wallet for his bday, only off ebay though.

So now to think about xmas for him, arghhh
