Hen do help!!

I have been tasked to organise a hen do for my soon to be daughter in law :T . Problem is everything I thought of is either not available or just not suitable. So I'm after ideas please! The bride and groom to be want to do daytime things seperately then join together for the evening, so it's something to do in the day, on a Saturday in early Jan! The bride to be is normally a jeans girl, not into make up etc, and so even a spa day seems inappropriate! I know the boys are going paintballing in the day. Any ideas anyone?!! Thx!

    Drunken treasure hunt
  • how about some kind of dance class? a work collegue went to a hen do where the hens all learned the dance from Dirty Dancing she said it was brilliant and then at the wedding they were teaching the other guests what to do.
If she likes cocktails you could do a cocktail making class or something similar
I know the rules of punctuation and grammer I just choose to ignore them (or forget them half the time)... Apologies in advance

A "class" in almost anything would be fun - and probably you'll get a good deal in January. Look at local centres, and local adult classes and get contacts - making things can be fun as well.
Some leisure centres will do a sort of gym activity day with use of the facilities, including maybe the pool & hot tub if they have one.
One of my friends just had a lovely country walk with a stop at a pub, and I agree that treasure hunts are always fun.

For mine my friends organised a scavenger hunt. There was a list of things to get such as:
Something that remind bride of groom (extra points for it being funny)
Something to do if it rains on the honeymoon
Take pictures to show the bride what poses she and husband should do for the formal photos
Write the brides card to give to the groom on the morning of the wedding
Something for the 'going away' outfit.
Choose a song for a first dance.
Tell groom what gift to get the bride

I can't remember the rest. I'll see if I can find it. It sounded sort of cheezy, but actually we split into a few groups and all went to the large number of charity shops in town, and people got really funny things! Plus really creative answers, very funny poses etc etc.

It took most of the meal to get through all the items, and was so much fun. I think the total cost for each team was about £20 for all the items, as things can be bought for very little if you think laterally. We even managed to get one of the charity shops to produce their 'reserve' collection of more risque books which normally just get left out the back!
  • My friend's having a hen do in early December - we're off to the theatre, followed by meal and than a wine tasting thing.. (substitute chocolate/beer/etc as appropriate).

    I've been Money Tipped!
I went to an art cafe for my hen do. We sat around painting things with a few open bottles of wine and all chatting to each other. Was fab!

Another friend had challenges around the city centre to complete - security guard told her off for running up a down escalator.

Another friend took us quad biking. That was hilarious.
Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

We did a cocktail makung class for my hen do in August this year, it was fab and the.guy running it really got everyone excited, playing games etc. Revolution vodka bars do them if theres one near to you?
  • My best mate got married recently and I organised a cocktail class ie making and drinking various cocktails for the late afternoon and in the early afternoon we went to the races. Seemed to go down a treat.

If nothing is 'good enough' why not simply ask her or her friends. for ideas?
  • even though she isnt a girly girl a spa day might be nice coz it doesnt have to do girly. a nice massage for her and lazing about in a bathrobe using jaccuzi and champagne.

i would go for quadbiking personally.
