Hotels in Florence

Anyone recommend a decent hotel in Florence?

Looking to pay up to about 120 euros a night for a double room.

  • why not go to tripadviser.co.uk and read the reviews for hotels in florence.
you'll find everything you need to know on there somewhere.

We've booked up for Hotel Davazanti in May after doing a fair bit of research. No.1 rated on tripadviser and great reviews elsewhere too. Price currently shows as €137 but you may be able to find a discount or offer through the usual sites.

Alternatively just work your way down the TripAdvisor ratings till you find one you like - although I wouldn't pay much attention to their "average price" on the list page. Hotel Europa seemed decent enough and a bit cheaper.

I'd recommend doing a search on venere.com - really helpful website with lots of good maps/reviews, and reasonable prices too (which you also don't have to pay in advance)
Plus for 4% off, use code: BK5HX8W

I think it's a good idea to check out this website even if you find hotels cheaper elsewhere, as the descriptions and maps are generally better than other sites in my opinion.

    Hope that helps

We stayed in the hotel carravaggio back in 2004 it was very very nice and very reasonably priced - look at the reviews on tripadvisor. Some one comments on the staff attitudes on there but I think this was just italian charm - part of the experience!

We stayed at the Carravaggio in 2005! We didn't come across any bad attitudes from the staff and we had a FANTASTIC time - we got engaged in Florence :D. I recommended it to other friends and they thought it was great too.

It's really close to the main sites, with some lovely restaurants around there.

  • A really good hotel near the station (Although a little bit of a walk to town) is Del Nazioni. We have seen good and bad reviews but for the money I think you cannot beat it. Nice bar, reasonable breakfast, free internet but a/c does not come on until summer.

I stayed at the Hotel Del Nazioni for 2 nights in 2002 and it was an absolute dive. It was part of a walking holiday with the Ramblers so I couldn't change it, but it was one of those places I would have left despite paying for the room had I booked it myself (and I've done that before).

We've stayed at the Hotel Corona d'Italia. Small hotel but very clean, close to all the city sights and the staff were very helpful. Looking at https://www.tripadvisor.com, most people reviewing it have the same opinion as us.

Can I ask who you are flying with? We want to go to Florence later this year and are struggling to find direct flights. Thanks
