was over charged only 2 pence :money:0 -
Reason why they give you the £2 is because it is a criminal offence to overcharge at the till. They can be done.
Morrisons do it all the time or they forget to take down promo prices or put
non-promo items in the promo shelf/freezer.
for example BM Turkey burgers on promo will have BM Turkey steaks not on promo in the same place. I am forever finding the mistakes, whether they do it on purpose or the staff are dosey.
Sainsbury's fined £19,000 for overcharging at Lambeth stores
Lidl fined for overcharging0 -

Always check your till receipt, always..... On Saturday I bought 2 bottles of Mickey Finns Schnapps (went to a party and yes I did have a hangover of sunday!!) When I looked at the receipt at home, I noticed that the assistant had put one of the bottles through twice and so charged me for three bottles instead of two. I only noticed because I hadn't bought many things. Anyway I rang up the store when I got home and they said they have put my name in the book and I just have to go to customer services with the receipt and they will refund the extra bottle overcharge and put £2 on a giftcard for the inconvenience.0

Quote from Asda web page :
"What happens if I am overcharged?
If you have been overcharged or undercharged in any of our stores we will gladly refund the difference (if you have been overcharged) and give you a £2 Gift voucher for each product you have been mischarged for."
bought dairylea cheese spread last weekend, was advertised on the shelf 'buy 2 for 90p' (78p each)
did a quick receipt check after going through check-out and everything looked fine. got home and had another look at the receipt...
DAIRYLEA 78p
DAIRYLEA 78p
Multibuy sav -76p
Total 80p
so Asda undercharged by 10p! has anyone ever tried claiming a free £2 gift card after being undercharged? I haven't been back to Asda since, can't decide whether to bother pointing it out...
I can't see the offer on their online shop though. and the dairylea cheese spread is priced at 94p each!0 -
I have claimed on an undercharge, but the woman at CS obviously thought I was a nutter, and kept saying, no-one ever complained about being undercharged before, she phoned the manager and was muttering and then said what do you expect for this, they wanted to see if I knew about the $2 policy.
I saw it by accident it was my daughters birthday pary and they have on some of their pop bottles buy 3 for £1.50, but they are now only 44p each so they went through the till for £1.32, I took the till to CS and got my £2 gift card, not a great saving as I wouldn't normally buy the stuff but they're giving me 68p to take the pop from the shop, so I pick 3 up every time I'm thereThere is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0 -
everyone seems to be getting customer satisfaction from asda, not me. after taking advice from this site last week , i decided to shop online for the australian wine at 25% off , i ordered some other stuff too , beer reduced for bulk buy etc, after placing the order confirmation came back with none of the discounts, so i emailed them immediately , that was last friday, again i emailed them sunday after recieving my order that had all the wines substituted by french table wines and everything was much more expensive..i called the store first thing monday morning, someone was to call me , i am still waiting , i have recieved no emails back from them , though their website says they will reply with 48hrs, i have called them back today and still cant get anyone to speak to, though i have been told someone will call , oh and the advertised free delivery on orders over £50 , i was also charged £4.25 for that, so beware , its not all good , don't think i'll be shopping there again, i will let u all know if i ever get any satisfaction0

I suggest contacting Trading Standards through their very user-friendly website CLICK HERE . They'll give you advice fairly quickly!0 -
thanks i'll try that , though i will be writing a letter to someone higher up , stating no wonder tesco have had massive profits this year compared to their competitors, i'm in glasgow, i think we accept less than our english cousins, an i'm fed up with the service we just take for granted0
