Hi All
Can anyone help me, I was looking at going to the N-Power deal for the wine and for the vouchers and of course for a reduced rate.
But I am currently with EDF.
I have ECO20:20
9.40P per unit at night
12.180p in the day
AND
Gas at 3.35 per unit
Does anyone know if I should switch or not, I just don't know???

No one can help you unless you state your annual kWh consumption figures and region. And which nPower tariff are you referring to?
Armed with those three figures., 5 minutes work on an accredited comp site will tell you all you need to know.
However, I would also wonder why (assuming you have gas CH) you are on a split rate electricity tariff?
What matters is the annual cost, not the freebies-you can factor in the value of those once you have the comp site results. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

You will have a split rate for electricity if you have an Economy 7 (White) Meter. It makes your night time rates cheaper than your day time rates. Depending on your DNO will determine the times of the night rates and for how long (usually 7 hours).0 -
But it also makes your day rate more expensive. If you have gas CH, you won't use much electricity on night rate-hence my query. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Never switch for the sake or want of a specific freebie. Consider the freebie a bonus on top of the deal it comes with, if that deal being offered is good for you.0

Hi All
I now have the figures that I need to tell you....
Sorry for the delay and I really need your help, I don't know how you work all of this out so well, thank you anyway! I really appreciate your help :-)
Ok here goes,
Annual Statement
Electric
4 Nov 10 - 3 Nov 2011
Last 12 months consumption - 6023 kwh
And Gas
4 Nov 10 - 3 Nov 11
Last 12 months consumption - 16750 kwh
Thanks all!0 -
Sorry! and I have been looking at the npower offer that is on the homepage (fixed) as promoted by Martin.
Many Thanks0 -
Just put these figures into any comp site. No one else can do it for you, as we don't know your region, and prices vary regionally for electricity. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Thanks for the info, just did this on u-switch but they dont have my plan in the search options.
But this is what I am looking at getting?
Unit prices
Gas£146.803 Annual standing charge3.486p per KWh (3.320p excl. VAT)Electricity£130.31 Annual standing charge14.55p per KWh (13.86p excl. VAT) (day)5.78p per KWh (5.50p excl. VAT) (night)All prices shown are inclusive of V.A.T. at 5%0 -
The comp sites do not display all historic tariffs that are no longer available. Just use BG Standard dual fuel or similar as your current one. The point is to get the currently available tariff prices for the purpose of comparison. You already know what you are paying now.
Looking at pure unit costs is a waste of time, as there are too many other variables. The comp sites factor those in for you.
PS: I still don't understand why you are on E7 given that you clearly have gas CH? What proportion of your electricity usage is on cheap rate (not quoted in your original figs)? It needs to be around a minimum 33% to make E7 worthwhile. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Well when I enter the similar deal that is available now then it says I save £8 approx. So does this mean I will save or is it looking too close to be a good deal?
You can see how I don't know what I am doing, sorry! Really appreciate your advice0
