  • Hi all

I've done a search for this and cant find anything but im sure someone must have asked this before.

I've just moved into a new flat and the washing machine here is manky! I want to give a good clean and i was wondering if there is anything that i can use to do this? I was thinking of putting it on a hot wash and was wondering if theres anything i can add to this, bicarb maybe?? The door seal is black and i've tried scrubbing it with stardrops to no avail!

    any help would be fab!

    thanks

nothing(apart from buying new bearings), if you have greasy dark spots on your clothes your bearings are on there way out, the inside of your machine gets cleaned and rinsed with hot soapy water every time you do a wash cycle

Exuse my ignorance, what are the bearings ? The machine is only a few months old. The greasy marks have only happened a few times, not on all clothing and not every wash.
  • have you tried setting the machine away on as hot a cycle as possible with nothing inside? If its a problem with the machine it won't make the problem go away but it might help temporarily? i've just cleaned mine through with white vinegar and it worked fine.

  • id put a load of soda crystals in the drawer compartment of the machine. Machine empty otherwise. Run your hottest wash (usually 90/95c) and this should clean all your machine and pipes of any gunk build up. We do ours every 3 months as we do alot of washing and keeps things nice and fresh x

    Hi Bunny

I've merged this with an existing thread on washing machines. I must do the same myself actually! Good reminder :D
