How long does it take for a mobile returned using freepost to O2 to show up and the account to be cancelled. Im well within the 14 day return window

5 working days, it goes by the post mark so as long as you've returned it within the 14 days there shouldn't be any issue. Always keep the proof of postage, new accounts will automatically cancel off, upgrade will cancel, but not the account so if you want to close your account you'll need to ring up after those 5 working days.
If it's an iPhone it goes back to a Leeds address, no authorisation number required, for anything else it goes back to an address in Normanton and you need a returns authorisation number (RAN).
