virgin media charged fee for their mistake!

Hi , im looking for some help with virgin media. i am in a bit of a panic.

i recently changed banks 3rd October and left my old one open for any direct debits which didn't get changed in time.

I have discovered that virgin media have charged me a late payment fee... but they accepted the transfer of bank accounts in October..as confirmed by my bank!

I checked on 1st November when the payment is due , my virgin account online and they had all my bank details correct.

Is there anything I can do to reclaim the late payment fee or is it my fault??

It may not be your fault, but then, what relevance is that to VM's charging structure? Even if they fail to take the payment on time, the onus remains with the customer to pay on time or suffer the consequences of a late fee, A little known fact is VM staff have discretion to waive this charge once in any six month period, so complain. This only works if you have no other late payments in the previous 6 bills, so if you haven't - go for it!
