International SIM cards
Hi everyone,
I'm going to be spending 3 months in Italy this year  , and want to use my phone which is a Motorola V220.
Just by doing a google search I've come across a lot of International SIM cards, from companies like Go-Sim and Geosim. Looking at all the costs and tariffs has given me a headache so can anyone give me any recommendations?
It will be used to keep in touch with folks back home in the UK and occasionally to make calls to local Italian landlines or mobiles.
All advice gratefully received....

There are plenty of brands of the Isle of Man SIMs, including the two you mention, plus some from other countries. The IOM ones do vary a bit more in tariffs depending on the agent, so unfortunately you might have to grind through and study several
For that length of time though, you might also look into local SIM cards in Italy, probably Wind. Details on http://www.prepaidgsm.net/en/italy.html
Also, in the last couple of weeks 3 UK has introduced free roaming on other 3 networks abroad. It might be worth checking their coverage maps for Italy though, as you might not describe it as universal

You can read more in Martin's article about roaming ...

Thanks for the advice guys, I've had a look at the links and am currently tempted by the story telecom card as it gives £25 credit for a £25 sim card. But I may still change my mind, the 3 offer looks good too.Retired in 2015.
