orange upgrade offers...in a quandary now!
Hi...me again! lol
Just been on the phone to Orange, I told the adviser of my upgrade plans to a Nokia Lumia..he wasn't that impressed lol he wasn't a fan of Window 7 phones. He gave me some alternatives that he could offer me today..
My choices are...
Original choice
Nokia Lumia 800, free phone and free xbox
Dolphin plan= 900 x-network mins , unlimited texts, and 250mb data.
£36.00/mth 24mth contract
Offers
Sony Ericsson Experia Ray free phone
800 x-network mins, unlimited landline calls, 300texts, 500mg data
£23.04/mth 24mth contract
HTC Desire S free phone
800 x-network mins, unlimited landline calls, 300texts, 500mg data
£23.04/mth 24mth contract
or for a bit more a month...
Samsung Galaxy S2 free phone
800 x-network mins, unlimited landline calls, 300texts, 500mg data
£25.54/mth 24mth contract
HTC Sensation free phone
800 x-network mins, unlimited landline calls, 300texts, 500mg data
£25.54/mth 24mth contract
To be honest the Galaxy S2 was a phone I was looking at before I saw the Nokia deal....But then a 'free' Xbox for surprise Xmas pressie is tempting too...and even though the sales rep isn't a Windows fan I have seen/read good reviews about the new Lumia.
Also I don't text a great deal, and I do use my mobile as my main phone (probably as I have unlimited landlines in my existing plan), and apparently do an average of 628mins/month
So...opinions are gratefully received on the deals I have on the table.
Thanks x

The Samsung S2 is probably he best of the lot.
Sony Xperia Arc (looks same as Xeperia Ray) is quite good (according to someone I know who has it).0 -

You can get the S2 on T-Mobile as a new customer for 18 months at the same price as your 24 months upgrade offer

So not really that great an offer by them. Get onto them and tell them about the above, see if they can get it down....a lot.
I was offered (with T-mobile upgrade) a couple of months ago the S2 for £30 over 18 months, so they should do better than what you have offered.0 -
Decision made...gone for the Galaxy S2 :j:j:j Arrives Monday

Thank you for your input x0 -
Isn't it a sales advisors job to advise? Not to tell you his personal thoughts on an OS so you go with what he likes as opposed to what you like/need.0

Yes i do agree with you, I was just stating what he said, no idea why he felt the 'need' to share his opinion of windows 7 phones lol
In the end I weighed up the cost of contract over the 24mth period, plus then the cost of getting the xbox games for kids to play on at £40 a pop. They are only 7 and 4 and we have a wii already, so even though was tempting it wasn't the best deal for me in the end. I still like the lumia, the adviser's comments didn't put me off it, it was more the £36/mth for less mins etc that did!

I did the same thing. I should get mine in the next couple of daysDecision made...gone for the Galaxy S2 :j:j:j Arrives Monday

I'm with Vodafone. I didn't get anything special but:
600 mins
Unlimited texts
Unlimited internet for the first 3 months (500 MB after that)
and 1GB BT Openzone
for £31 per month is a lot better than I'm currently paying.
Also better than upgrading in-store, as they could only offer the same for £37 per month
I've also dropped the insurance I had with them and have saved £20 per month :jPAYDOBX 2017 £660/3000

At least you managed to get some info on the Lumia from Orange, I have spoken to them 3 times in the last week and they have not been able to give me any info until launch tomorrow?? They keep telling me that there is nothing showing on their system, maybe it is because I am out of contract and been a loyal customer for 12 years??? Anyway, if nothing successful come sout of the negotiations tomorrow then I'll be asking for a PAC code..........0
