    Can't see them lasting long.

On a happy note I got my flights refunded. On a less happy note I had to pay an extra £300 each for the same flight with Sri Lanka... but at least I get an 'oliday!

I loved Kingfisher last time I flew with them, but even if they recovered somehow and got all their planes flying fully, I'd never book with them again. I'm guessing I'm far from the only one. Irreparable damage done i reckon.

Glad you got a refund and glad you're getting a holiday, even at extra cost. Yes in the beginning they were good but who's going to book with them now, time to put the King of good times out of it's misery but I wonder if it won't take a while longer before it finally dies.
  • I had real problems with this airline. I'd used them in the past and found them great value for money with excellent service. However, they just about left me stranded in England as one leg of my return flight to Bangkok was cancelled.

I was advised by the customer service staff to buy a visa for India and have an unscheduled holiday in Mumbai, then take an extra internal flight in India before departing for Thailand. They then stopped answering the phone in the UK and Thailand office, and didn't reply to my emails.

Eventually, I managed to speak to someone in their Indian office. A few painful hours on the phone later, I managed to reschedule my flights and they put me on an Air India flight for the second leg. I had to really push and pull for this, but at least I managed to make it back with no extra cost.

My situation of having a flooded house in Thailand to deal with, no job to return to, and a very stressed girlfriend help either!! (all is good again now).

Bottom line: I'll never use Kingfisher again, although I don't think that's going to be an option.

Grrrrrrrr... I'm supposed to be flying with these to Bangkok on the 30th March - should I be worried...??

Blunther - Please drop me a line if you need any help or advice about Bangkok / Thailand. I've spent the best part of 7 years over here.

    A real shame.

I have always thought their international arm is far better than their internal flights.
But this does beg the question - Is the full service flight soon to be a thing of the past?

I have to also add that imo Kingfisher stewardesses are some of the most beautiful women I have ever seen, comparable only to Vietnam airlines and maybe JAL - A real breath of fresh air from the usual "I smoke 200 Lambert and Butler per day and use the sun bed every 2 hours, 20 years past their sell by date, with a gay guy thrown in for good measure" English/US stewardesses.

I wouldn't write it off just yet... Many have tried to translate the low cost model to long haul and many have failed.

Which may just be a case of style over substance when you consider the shambles that is Kingfisher and the way it's been run (into the ground).
