been told that current boiler is Kaput, and a new one is required.
quoted 3200 gbp which seems a lot for a condensing boiler replacement - a Potterton envoy 50 (the replacement boiler is priced elsewhere at 500 not fitted - so 2700 for labour seems rich!!)
any suggestions as to how to get this price down please - or if you are in the sussex area and work in this field please mail to
tonyaca@ ntlworld.com (without the space) or tel 08 451081 221 and listen to aphone for onwards contact number
thanks for suggestions / advice

Get more than one quote - I got 5 ranging from £2,100 up to £3,400 - highest were BG and Powergen. Eventually used local CORGI installer & paid £2,300. Labour is high - took 2 days to install ours.0

People get ripped off left right & centre on this type of thing. I got a brand new potterton performa about 3 years back for £500 & got it fitted by 2 plumbers who did the job as a foreigner (on the side!) for £100!
Took them about 3 hours.0
