Search (pants) and archive question

1 The Search function here was always rather pants. I don't say uniquely as I have the impression that many forums on the net use the same software.
Maybe not everybody knows the useful fact that if a search turns up 0 results though you know your word is there in a post, then waiting for half a minute and repeating often does turf up results.
Today I searched a word in my own posts. It was in about 10 pages of them. The post I was looking for was not in the first page. When I clicked on page 2 or Last Page it gave me the 'Not found - try another term' message. What can I do?
2 Anyway for how long are posts archived? Sometimes I manage to retrieve one of mine from 2006, sometimes not.
I think it would be a pity if the World Heritage of my posts were to be lost to humanity. :cheesy:modest

Yes; the search function is moody. I thin Webby has posted somewhere recently that it is being fixed.I think it would be a pity if the World Heritage of my posts were to be lost to humanity. :cheesy:modest0
