Hi, I am in the market for a basset hound puppy but I have discovered widespread fraud on reputable websites. If you find someone selling a puppy for cheaper than usual, or they send you an email along these lines, be very careful.

We are giving them out for re-homing due to the nature our job that does not permit us to stay at home always to look very well after these puppies and shower them with the kind of love they need. I am an International business man while my wife is a Medical Doctor, so we are always up and down, here and there and we have realized that these puppies will need a good and loving forever home just like yours, my wife was new transferred here in the Londonderry but we realized that this area will not suit these puppies and that is why we have decided to look for some one at your location that can adopt these puppies since we also want to make sure we give the puppies out from the Londonderry where we will not be able to be having lots of thoughts about them, because if we happen to give some one around here we will always want to go see them always which will not be possible for us but will stress up much. It means there are no dogs and they will shortly ask you for up-front western union payment which you will simply lose. Also, they then have all your contact details which they'll no doubt sell on to other scammers.

You should never buy a pup without seeing it first anyway so anyone who's prepared to buy a dog in this manner is 1) asking to be scammed and 2) not taking their responsibilities as an owner seriously.

I thought I had missed something when I read the op as there didn't seem to really be a point..If you buy a puppy then you should see the mother and if possible the father and watch the litter to see which puppy would fit in with your lifestyle and needs.
Check that all are healthy and ask questions about the mothers health ie wormed etc.

No one should buy a puppy without seeing it at the very least......end of

Photo...yes agree, but a simple question like " do you have kids and do you live in a house with a garden or flat" ..no as they are questions I would ask to someone who wanted on of my puppies.
