UKCPS Dockside Outlet Centre, Chatham

I parked at Dockside Chatham for about 2 hours while we went for a meal, in a disabled space with my blue badge and clock clearly on the dashboard - returned to find a "ticket" on the car.

The attendant was lurking around so I went over and pointed out the badge and asked him to cancel the ticket. He said "I didn't see it" and started walking off. I shouted after him to cancel the ticket and he replied "I didn't issue it" before upping his pace and disappearing.

Now luckily I know full well that his invoice is utterly unenforcable, and I also know that on the million-to-one chance they took me to court I'd have the defence of having displayed my badge.

I'd also argue that their £100 demand in no way reflects their losses. In fact, as the carpark had dozens of empty bays I'd argue that their actual losses were a big fat zero. But anyway, we all know it won't come to that.

One thing I did notice, though, was that a couple of other cars were also ticketed despite displaying their badges. I couldn't help but wonder if that's part of their business model: ticket enough cars and hope that some people either cough up immediately or once their "appeal" has been rejected.

I'm posting this in the hope that anybody in a similar situation can find this post and read the advice on this forum :)

    Ignore the scammers.

And if you complain to anyone, bend the ear of the manager/s of the places you visited about how these cowboys are damaging their trade and reputation. ;)

Poor UKCPS, need the extra money to dig an oldish thread up to post some rubbish?

Poster 4 yankee is probably Peter Haswell from UKCPS so just ignore him, his company targets disabled drivers, and discriminates against them. And his pet charity mobilise or whatever they called now endorses them.

Unless court papers arrive ignore everything
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Amazing how yankee 12 can point out in so much detail something that happened two months ago, he and his employees must have remarkable memories.

Damn, can anybody summarise what I missed?

Two months on and I'm yet to receive any paperwork relating to this, so I can only assume UKCPS are either incompetent or realise they don't have a leg to stand on - possibly both.

28 days is the limit, or else they are in breach of the BPA code.

Cannot remember it all but basically a long rambling post with several points, namely that you are lying, swore and used foul language to his attendant who claims he did not issue the ticket, it was his mate who he has just relieved and by an amazing coincidence had now gone off duty.

It was all the fine detail he included that made you realise his attendant must have the memory of a mastermind champion.

I think he stated something to the effect that out of the goodness of their hearts and to show how compassionate UKCPS are they have cancelled the ticket but I would not rely on that piece of information unless you actually get confirmation.

Shame then that (a) the post is deleted and (b) they're not doing court. I'd love to show that post to a District Judge and get their opinion!

    Cheers :)
