Number displayed for call divert?
I want to get 2 contracts (one on O2 and one on T-Mobile).
The O2 contract will be used for my personal number while the T-Mobile contract is used for another purpose that I want to keep entirely separate.
I want to avoid carrying 2 phones around so I thought that I could use my primary phone with O2 which I would carry around. I would use a secondary phone with T-Mobile that I would leave at home with a call divert to my O2 number.
My question is, if someone calls me on the T-Mobile number and it gets diverted to my O2 number:
1. Are there any obvious indications that they are being call diverted?
2. Will they be able to determine my O2 number? (e.g. will it show up on their phone's screen).
3. What number will be displayed on the O2 mobile, will it be my own T-Mobile number or will it be the original number that would have been displayed on the T-Mobile phone?
4. If it's the actual caller's number displayed, will my O2 phone (Currently an iPhone 3G but will be upgraded to 4S) give me an indication that the call is going via the divert rather than coming directly.
5. Will the call divert part of the call from T-Mobile to O2 contracts be charged the same as if it was a direct call between T-Mobile to O2 contracts. (i.e. if it would have come out of inclusive minutes then it will for the call divert, if it would have charged then it gets charged at the same rate for the call divert).
Any other help would be greatly appreciated as I've never played around with the call divert feature before.
TIA

If you initiate a call divert from a T-Mobile phone, you'll be charged for the divert as if you made the call yourself and it won't come out of your allowance. They're the only network with this rule AFAIK.
Most phones indicate if the incoming call has come from a diverted source, but the iPhone doesn't.
The number displayed would be the original number that was calling.I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -

Boo to T-Mobile for the call divert not coming out of the allowance. And Boo to iPhone for not supporting an indication that it's from a diverted call.
Thanks for the information. I'm so glad I asked before I committed to any additional purchases.0
