Its been very interesting reading your different opinions on the use of PVA, I for one am going to stick with misgrace, especially after my experience!! But just to let you know, we spoke to a local P and D who lives up the road, in the same type of house, ex council house property, and he said the council lime washed the ceilings and this could be the problem as he experienced the same prob in his house. He advised sanding back the patches and painting on some gloss, then sanding that lightly and hopefully the new paint should then take! I will let you know how I get on, but to be honest I have 2 more bedrooms to do and I am now very reluctant to take off the woodchip on the ceiling, I think I will just give them a fresh coat of paint!!!
