Hi all, JulieGeorgiana, hope you're keeping better this week and following the Drs orders!:)
I'm going to bow out for a couple of weeks (hopefully not too long) - my Crohn's isn't too great atm which means it dictates what I can eat, rather than what I'd like to eat.
So, it'll be a hit / miss and see what I can tolerate each day - thinking back, this maybe partly why I've never managed to meal plan as it's impossible to plan even a week ahead when it's like this.
Will pop in and look for inspiration tho!:)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250
£1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!0 -

definatly following Dr's orders... Am doing very little... Not that I am able to do very much even if I wanted to.
Like you I am having trouble meal planning for the same reasons... How can you meal plan when what you can eat one day, makes you sick the next? I just have a ton of food in the freezer and every morning I chose lunch/dinner and hope by lunch/dinner time I can still tolerate it!
My food budget is out of the window (althought still trying hard to control it) because I keep running out of food (ie. last night I had dinner, then todays lunch an hour later, then sent DH to the shop...!)
I completly sympathise xWe spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -

This isn't a meal plan but just a note to say that I'm still eating up things out of the cupboard and freezer, with a plan to eke it out till Friday morning and get deliveries then; that allows me to cook big complicated things when I'm at home. We were away at the weekend and didn't get home in time for dinner yesterday.
Monday: the minestrone we had ready for yesterday, plus a dab of stewed plums & creme fraiche.
Tuesday: mackerel kedgeree; this is getting quite urgent because the smoked mackerel is well past its dates; I am not convinced it would ever go off but still.
Wednesday: sausage and carrot pasta from freezer
Thursday: the Sardine & Tomato tart (made entirely from tins & freezer) that we didn't do last week
Friday -- will order later...
We will need to top up with butter (we're almost completely out), milk, and fruit (have only lemons left), and bake bread. Have some cereals, potato waffles and so on for breakfasts. No leftovers for lunches at present; I can scavenge lunches from bits and bobs but I think DH is going to want to buy them unless I can rustle something up for him.Make £2023 in 2023: (all decluttering), current total £2860 me, £330 for friends & family, £468 charity donations.0 -
As I suspected, there's been a change of plan:
Friday - quick salami and bean chilli with garlic bread
Saturday - roast chicken sandwiches (I wasn't feeling well and only wanted something light)
Sunday - LO salami and bean chilli
Monday - chicken, bacon and sweetcorn pie
Tuesday - cheese, bacon and chard lasagne
Wednesday - veg chilli with cheesy corn bread
Thursday - Thai veg curry with naan breadBack after a very long break!0 -
Hello everybodypeeps
sorry for jumping in, just curious as to whether or not you have a printed planner? I do, mine is on the fridge and the kids really do love going to look at it to see whats for dinner.
Do you print?
If so what do you use?
I use these http://familyfun.go.com/assets/cms/pdf/printables/0808a-MealPlanner.pdf
I plan 4 weeks at a time, does that make me a saddo? Will answer my own question by telling you that I have sectioned both the cupboard and freezer into 4 sections (weeks) and have all the stuff needed (tins, packet mixes, jars, frozen meat, veg etc) in the corresponding sections. this makes it soooo easy to find what you need, esp in the freezer.
Do any of you go to this extreme or do I really need to get a life??Littlewoods £10 Very BNPL £234.42

Dear BC, I had to laugh as I have a printed list of my freezer/larder contents and cross the products off as I complete my 4 sometimes even up to 8 week menu plan. I print out the menu plans and the kids can check what's for lunch, dinner etc. Makes life much easier in my mind. Your cupboards are in the next league up2004 £387k 29 years - MF March 2033:eek:

I just write the week's dinners on a piece of paper & stick it to the fridge.
You sound super organised.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0
