in Water bills
Had my meeting other day to do with my water bill, posted on here about week ago. I asked the person that deals with wateer from my housing association about the way we are billed. I was told the management of the building buys water from the water board, sells on to housing association which are then passed to us. My bill for hot water, cold water and under floor heating is for 3 years so am expecting it to be about £1200 going by neighbours that have received theres, they are with different housing associations who have now merged together. My housing association has paid my bill but am expecting it to be passed on to me shortly. I asked at meeting what happens if I dont pay bill and was told we will just send letters or call you. The first bill for our service charges just had one set amount so most people though our water was included.

That post is here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/47911057#Comment_47911057
You don't say the size of your property or how many live there, but it would not be unusual to pay £1200 for 3 year's cold water supply, let alone for hot water and underfloor heating.
Your dispute is simply with the housing association, but unless it was specified that water and heating was included in the service charge, you don't seem to have much of a case.
However I suggest you contact the CAB or all of you club together and see a solicitor for his opinion.0 -
I agree it cheap for water etc for 3 years but our main dispute is that we got to pay for 3 years on top of our bill for this year. They are willing to accept a payment spread over next 3 years but there are many people living here pensioners etc that will struggle to afford that. I am willing to pay that but thought we might be able to get some of money wiped off the bill as this should of been sorted out when people first moved in. I think it all because they didnt know what way they was going to bill us for heating hot water.0

Agreed you probably have a case for a reduction, but that requires some negotiation with the HA.0

sorry forgot to say I got a 1 bedroom and only myself living here. Have a neighbour who had an £800 bill but I been here 6 months longer and use my heating where they dont and would use bath and washing machine more than them, so expecting quite a bit more.0
