Game dispatched to wrong address
Comments

No i never
this happens every day if the addressee is not in , if it was fraud RM and couriers would not allow others to do this.
I know its not fraud......I was quoting vyle's post and questioning his assertion that it is fraud. Perhaps I didnt make that clear enough. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
It wasnt sent by recorded delivery unfortunately, I have sent a letter with my contact details to the house, and will organize delivery with them if they get in touch.
When I rang the company up, the woman told me that the reason it was sent to that address was because "pre orders are different".
Now firstly, even though my game wasnt relased until tomorrow, it wasnt processed as a pre-order as it was in stock, and secondly nowhere on the site did it say first 2 orders go to billing address -except for pre orders.
Hopefully I will be able to get in touch with the people at the house, if not what do you think my chances of getting a refund/replacement are?0 -
I was giving tex the benefit of the doubt. Pity some people can't grasp the opportunity for a graceful rescue.0

so if you are not in and the post arrives and a good neighbours takes you mail in then its FRAUD./ THINK again on that as if it was then couriers/RM would never be allowed to leave mail at any other address other than the addressees
My thinking was that if the people now living at OP's old address knowingly signed for mail for somebody who they KNOW doesn't live at that address, but accept it anyway and choose to keep it when it will have a return address from the sender, then it was fraud. Especially if they may then refuse to send it to OP, perhaps claiming it had never arrived.
There's a difference between signing for something because the recipient is out, and signing for something when you have no idea who the recipient actually is and have no intention of sending it on (I always expect the worst in people in situations such as this).
Alas, it's academic now, because it wasn't sent recorded.
You could always wait the 16 days they stipulate before making a lost parcel claim, but they'll dispatch it to the same address again, or give you shopto credit, which you could use to make an order to the correct address, assuming the "lost parcel claim form" that gets sent out is filled in by the other address.0 -
Havent heard anything back from the letter. Tried to ring the sorting office to see if by some miracle it was there but they were closed.
Cant do anything now til monday, so need to sort out a plan of action, any ideas?0 -

On the website it says you print out the form and mail it to them? Have you used this before and found it to be different, cos im not exactly 100% trusting of what they say on their website atm!
Also will this order qualify for that seeing as it went to the wrong address, or could I just say the people at that address haven't received it, guess a lost parcel is a lost parcel, regardless of the address.0 -
I have used it before, yes. I think on the site it requests that you wait 16 days before you send out a lost parcel form, because of possible royal mail delays or something (well it used to).
When you send them the form, they chase it up with royal mail, who send a letter out to the address to which the parcel was sent, asking for proof youve ordered something, the date, what it was, where it had come from, etc (a print out of the email receipt will do) and they then get back to shopto saying "yup, it's gone." Shopto then send out another copy, or give ou store credit, cos you could say youve purchased elsewhere.
Was it a preorder of skyrim? Because my preorder was sent out recorded delivery by default.
It would still qualify, despite it going to the wrong address, assuming the people living there fill in the form. that's the thing though, and by that point, we're back to the possibility that they're committing fraud.
Might be worth sending a message to the shopto facebook page or twitter account, because it's public customer service so they may be more helpful than a phonecall, but any times I've had problems with them (which was once) it got sorted out very quickly.0 -
Spoke to them today, told me that if it hasnt turned up after 15 days, I can fill out the lost parcel form and get a refund. The guy said that he would be sending a form out to the old address, but that it didnt affect my refund, as the contract was between me and shopto.0
