Cover Sending Collectible plate to US

A Beatles plate on Ebay that I bought for £10 has just finished at £117. I am gobsmacked but I need to know my best options for being covered sending to the USA. I really didn't expect it to go that high. Would it be Royal mail international signed ?
Any advice please ?
Thanks.

NO!!!
The only way to send an item like that is a big box absolutely stuffed with bubble wrap and with a courier0 -
double box it ...should be safe0

It's in a sturdy box filled with bubble wrap. Could you elaborate a little more from just "No" ? Not sure what it means.0

I mean international signed for is a waste of money and should never be used, as is domestic recorded0

But it's Royal Mail signed for. Why isn't it good ? surely it's covered.
What's the alternative and how much cost ?0 -

Royal Mail offers no guaranteed tracked service overseas- so obviouslythebest is correct you'll need a courier. Wait until the courier gurus log in as they will be able to suggest some alternatives that will give you tracking and insurance.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Or in the mean time there is a stickies thread about postage, somewhere in there I put a list of about 15 couriers to get quotes from, although the best persons for carriers for fragile items is hammyman who'll probably be along shortly0

A courier will cost a fortune !0

I use transglobalexpress. Make sure your courier covers breakables.
Tbh you should have asked this before it ended or at least only stipulated UK in your preferences if you didn't want the hassle.
Ensure the item inside the box doesn't move a cm when it's shaken hard and ask yourself if the box will survive a grown man jumping on it.0 -
Surely we can sell things overseas in the 21st Century? That's the whole point of Ebay isn't it ? We have been doing it for years. I must say opinions here are very cynical regarding what will happen to your parcel. Men jumping on it ?????????????
With Transglobal, what service do you use. Door to door ?0
