BT vs Primus

Does anyone here have any personal experience with primus? At £6.49 they're well under half price of BT. I do not use my landline to make calls at all- I don't even have a phone connected to it. I have my broadband via sky and have the sky talk package ( i receive a discount for carrying all my calls via sky - the call i never make). Can i just switch to primus without down time on my broadband. Do i need to inform sky etc?
thanks0 -
I have been using Primus since 2007 - thanks to Martin's "introduction". I get a q'ly rebate. It has all been excellent.
Then in October I got a paper bill - thought it strange but as I was in credit didn't pay much attention.
This month I have a bill with a charge of 1.50 for no DD set up and another 1.50 for getting a paper bill.
I have been on the phone for many many minutes about ten different occasions - no answer.
All the e-mail addresses (eg. savers@primustel.co.uk amongst a host of others of the bill in and web pages) get failure to deliver.
I was just about to move my line t them as BT have increased their prices - major re-thing going on now.
Hs anyone else had problems contacting them?
Does anyone have a solution?0 -
As i said before, Primus are great for price, BUT POOR for service!
I got a situation with them at the mo, where twice i've waited in a 30 min queue to get through to them, to setup a direct debit, twice, which still isn't set up, to ask for a refund as overcharged, etc etc....
Gonna email Ofcom today and ask them how i stand if i dont jump through there hoops when trying to pay a bill!0 -
i approached primus following a martins money recommendation. HOWEVER primus is a con...they dont tell you about HIDDEN CONNECTION CHARGE OF £60,i had a working phone line, but primus dont tell you about the connection charges until they have their direct debit in place, and swiftly attempt to take the money without your authorisation.I made the mistake of giving my full card details to them as they said these were needed for a credit check. Ive subsequently on advice from my bank had to report my card stolen to get the details stopped. It turns out one of primus operatives attempted to clone my card or has sold my card details. It probably means im going to have to have my account closed. Also primus ,despite my insistence they should cancel my details they are repeatedly requesting funds via a direct debit from my account.Every time i cancel it they try to reinstate it.....agggghhhhhhhh!!!!! Money has disappeared from my account. has anyone else had a similar experience? After receiving Martin's weekly email today I am considering switching my BT home phone to Primus.
I currently pay £14.90pcm with BT which covers line rental and the evening and weekends call package.
Primus say they can do £7.99pcm for an identical product.
I rang BT to find out when our contract expires and they said they would give me a discount bringing my monthly bill down to £11.60pcm - that would remain the same after they increase line rental charges on 4th December.
Has anyone any experience with Primus? I am wondering whether it is worth switching as there wouldn't be a big saving per month but just wondered if anyone has had issues with Primus and if they make up their charges elsewhere!
Any advise would be welcome as usual!
Thanks.0
