Acer help

I have just bought a little Acer One 722. I accidently plugged in the wrong adapter, the light came on and it started to charge. I then realised it was the wrong one so i unplugged it.
My question - can I damage the machine or can I use the adapter as a spare? That would save me carrying it to work everyday. Thanks:)

You could damage it the voltage is incorrect - compare the two adapters - if they're the same, then you should be ok but don't use if it's a higher voltage than the original0

Impossible to say from the information given. It might be exactly the same voltage rating and will be fine, or it may be way out and you were lucky that the voltage regulators in the Acer just about managed to hold out long enough without catching fire.0 -
Thanks for the super fast reply
Do I find the voltage on the bottom of the adapter.
I know i sound a thicky0 -
It will be written on the cuboid portion of the adapter.0

Adapter says 100 - 240 v - 1A 50-60Hz
I just unplugged it but it is really hot!! is this OK. My other laptops get warm but not as hot as this !!0 -
It should have another voltage wrote on there too as those were input, not output. And its probably got as 1A is probably lower than what it needs. If the amperage is too low, the charger will overload.0

Oh Crikey - I shouldn't have asked - I knew I wouldn't understand.
The charger was the one it came with.0 -
You are looking for a specification of 19V, 2.1A, 40W.0

@ Take This - thank you so much. Now that I can deal with. How did you find this?0
