humax foxsat hdr ...ci module query

having said good bye to sky , i have just bought a humax hdr and very pleased with its abilities and ease of use , just like my old sky + box but with an even better picture and am able to see exactly what channels i can access and record


i see it has a common interface module slot, would i be able to put my old sky card in there and access a few more channels and if so where would i buy the module that my old card can slot into

also would i be able to record those extra channels on the humax

You can use Sky cards/codes in other boxes but its a little ££ for the modules and that's the limit of my technical knowledge.

How about keeping the card in the Sky box and putting it in another room? You can't record without a sub of course, but you'll have access to a stack of channels at least...

Or, if you just want access to a few extra sky channels you can use the lnb loop through function on the hummy to attach to the sky box (although from my own experience and from some reading around, this can degrade the signal a little)

To use the sky box, the hummy needs to be in Standby and I think energy saving mode needs to be disabled.
