Home schooling help

I don't think my son refusing to go to breakfast club has anything to do with my anxiety....he just plainly doesn't like it....hes a bright child and he finds that hour and a half completely boring.
My daughter is 12 and at a different school, she helps with afternoon school runs when she can but i hate having to rely on her as it means she misses out on after school clubs or going to her friends houses.
My husband is studying architecture at Oxford Brookes, its a pretty intense course as they only have 2 semesters a year so theres not alot of flexibility with it. Even on his Thursday off hes having to go in as hes got so much work to do. If he started missing lectures or turning up late it would make things hard for him. Which i don't want as this in the long run will be all worthwhile for all of us.0 -
This makes me sad. In your position the best help is not medication but behavioural help such as CBT that will help you challenge your anxiety and related behavioural patterns (agrophobia etc).
Unfortunately it is cheaper to throw pills at people to curb the symptoms than to give proper help and tackle the cause. If you feel strong willed enough try asking your doctor for a referall to a CBT professional - they will likely resist but its worth fighting for, or failing that there are some fantastic self help CBT/anxiety books out there. Take a look on Amazon.
I have been referred for CBT and to see a clinical psychologist but the clinic is 20 miles away and just thinking about it makes me physically ill, so thats why they are trying medication first , so that i can actually get to an appointment.0 -
You might find it helpful to look at this if you're waiting for CBT http://www.llttf.com/.................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Cant you just make him go to the breakfast club on the days where you cant take him to school? - although I take it its at the school anyway just earlier? I used to look after some children who hated their after school club, and whinged about it as they also found it boring, but at the end of the day they had to go because until I started to look after them their parents were at work. There was no choice about it. As their Dad said 'thats life.' surely it would be better than him not going to school at all?
If you used that with a combination of your daughter doing maybe 1 day on a day where she has no clubs? your husband doing 1, and you possibly doing the rest then wouldnt that help?0 -

This is good news! Hope you're feeling up to it soon.0
