Orange payg - "Extra" mins & magic numbers MAJOR FAULT

If anyone has given a Orange payg to anyone vunerable or at risk BEWARE !

All calls to a registered Magic Number will not be connected where the balance is under 20p as Orange live billing will not see the purchased minutes "EXTRA" - your call will be routed to Orange asking you to top-up.

A major oversight by Orange & a breach of terms of service.

Customer services (India) will ONLY remove the Magic Number not report the fault & have it corrected.
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

I always thought that the cost of the call was 20p so surely you would need at least that to connect the call?

Yeah, if the call cost is 20p and your balance is less than 20p then of course you need to top up. Also, if you've given a payg sim to someone "vunerable or at risk" [sic] then I'd hope you wouldn't let the balance get as low as 20p anyway.

Magic numbers on PAYG cost 20p for up to an hour - therefore You would need at least this amount to make the call...I don't see where the problem is?

Isn't that just for contract customers, PAYG is 20p for 1 hour (or it use to be anyway)

The point is that even with a bundle of mins available to call mobiles or landlines http://www1.orange.co.uk/service_plans/payasyougo/extra_minutes.html your call wont connect to a registered Magic Number if you have less than 20p balance even though you have a minutes "extra" allowance to call a 07 mobile or landline Orange or otherwise you will be diverted to Orange top up line !

So calls to ANY "gagic number" registered Orange mobile, Livebox second line or Orange line rental customer will not be connected until you top-up EVEN if you just bought 100 EXTRA mins for £5.

A friends daughter got a Orange payg mobile added a £5 top up & bought the £5 100 mins "extra" due to bullies, when the daughter called several Orange numbers of family she could not connect & ended up being physically assulted (again) whilst trying to connect to the Orange family numbers for help....the bullies knew she couldnt connect and she had keep re-trying and they took full advantage of them mins the daughter could not use her mobile to summond help & harm her.

The police constabulary for the area even have thier geographical number & mobiles with..... ORANGE !! Daughter was told not to call 999 again !

Hardly a ideal way to find out Orange has messed up !

Hell, if my daughter was AT RISK I would make damned sure there was always at least £20 credit on her phone!!

I would not, ever, mess about trying to get free minutes and suchlike 'cheap' efforts to save money!
