Only time they will or can ask is for, home delivery or when buying a new TV.

Not 100% true. if you purchase anything tv related.

    VCR
    DVD
    BluRay
    Freeview
    Freesat
    etc.

Then by LAW you have to give your name and address for TV licencing purposes and giving false details is an offence

Comet needs to get rid of that stupid policy

this is not their policy this is the LAW.

you go to any supermarket, currys, argos etc. and purchase any TV related items they will ask for the same details.

It is true and I am right, You chose to look at it in a different way.

A TV with a tuner is just one of many. I was not going to post every single thing.

A DVD or bluray player without a tuner, does not require a license.

It's not a offence and even if it was, I don't care, I would not provide my details. They are hardly going to come after you over that, TV or not

The law says the store has to ask for your details if a tv say, is purchased or DVD player with a tuner.

this is not their policy this is the LAW.

It is not the Law. I am talking generally, not about buying a tv with a tuner in it. Please read my post properly

Yes, if you purchase a TV or DVD with a tuner installed but thats not what I am talking about.

If I buy say, a microwave at £149.99 comet would ask you for your address. Thats not a TV or does it require a license. It's comets policy as it cost over £100. Thats what I am talking about.
