Large family holiday!

Hi All! Can anyone help me out with some budget ideas for a holiday for 2 Adults and 3 children that doesn't involve a remortgage!?! In the past I have managed to go during term time, but this year as I am committed to working at a school I need to go in one of the holidays. It's so hard to find accomodation to sleep 5 unless you go self catering, in which case the price is based on 6 adults sharing in most cases. If anyone knows of any good hotels or accomodation that sleep 5 I would be greatfull. Also the idea of all inclusive, with 3 children, appeals so any all inclusive hotels with large family rooms anyone knows of would be helpfull! Don't want much do I?!!

Where do you want to go? Are you looking to the UK or warmer climes?
To be honest, we have had the same trouble (5 kids, me & DH) and gave up and got a large tent in the Argos end of season sale a few years back!! Saved loads and discovered that camping wasn't the hell that I thought it would be - and the kids love it and find it really exciting (!!??)
Don't think its everyones cup of tea, though.0 -
Where do you want to go to/not go to?
Dates you want to go on and for how long?
How old are the children?
Where would you like to fly from?
Whats your budget?"Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0 -
To be quite honest I don't mind UK or abroad, although I think the children and hubby would prefer abroad. I did contemplate camping but I don't think we would manage to squeeze all of us and the excess baggage (we have 3 girls!!) into one car!:undecided . Thanks for your reply anyway!0

In response to sloppychops. We don't mind any destination (as long as it's safe!) Any of the school holidays / half terms dates would be fine. We would want at least 7 days away. The children are aged 10, 8, and 5. We would prefer to fly from Stansted, but any of the London airports would be fine or at a stretch Norwich. Budget depends on board really. About two years ago we got two weeks 'budget' all inclusive in Greece for £1600 in August! I know I got a great deal then though. The maximum we could go to all inclusive is £2000 for two weeks.0

sloppy chops,
That is Fantastic!!!
I also have 3 kids, but all boys!! How the heck do you find these holidays!?
Just reading your posts always put me in a mood for holidays.
If you can, can you find me something too?
3 adults, 3 children (11, 5, and 4)
flying from any scottish airport,(preferably glasgow) or even if the price is right, from Manchester.
Prefer all inclusive, but half board is ok.
dates would be after 28th June for 1 week
anywhere in Spain,portugal, or canaries.
TIA

Thanks Sloppychops,
that was quick!!
Will talk it over with my hubby,(as he will not be able to go due to work, and it is him who is paying for it, for me, the kids and my parents.)
(The reviews are not very good for the hotel though)
Thanks very much!!
Very much appreciated.
