A momth or so ago I posted on here incensed at the fact that my Santander ESaver that I had taken out at 3% was currently yielding 0.05%.

I was berrated, folks said the bank will always advise of interest rate changes and better deals, what, that's toatal bollux, I never received any notification, even after 30 years banking with abbey/sant, and needs to be seen as that, an absolute reversal of loyalty.

You want absurd?, consider that then.

You would have been advised when you opened the account that the rate included a bonus for 12 months, after which the rate would drop. It was clearly displayed then just as it is now.

If you choose to ignore/not read/acknowledge it, that's hardly their fault. That's todays market for you and very typical of how many accounts work.

No sorry it wasn't/is'nt. Or I would not be posting here.

    Question:
Whose side are you on/are you a banker?
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

I'm not a banker. I'm on the side of fairness. Too many people here are very quick to apportion blame because we now live in a society where some think they're not accountable. The bankers may have caused an economic downturn, but they aren't responsible for people not reading T&C's, they're not responsible for consumers wilful ignorance nor are they responsible for people using credit limits on c/cards as a target to get to ASAP.

I'm merely pointing out what the application/advertisements said then and what it says now. They're identical apart from the rates which have gone up.

And isn't it strange that the only rates that have gone up is the ones that are designed to by pass existings savers, it trully stinks whether you accept it or not.

    Ok, lets put it another way;

Did my bank publish in 6ft high letters that I was buying a temporary account??

    Answer?/ No they didn't...

Did they print in the small and unreasonable that rates may vary after 2 nano seconds?. well yeah, you got me, they may have done.

    Still seem fair?? fella???

I have and I did, I now use abbey/XXXXXXXX for my current account only, but that will cease when they start to charge me, which they surely will. ;)

It's the loyallty bit that gets me, I'm genuinely loyal, my bank isn't, barsstewards:rotfl:
