Jobcentre wasting money?

On the 17th of Oct I posted my JSA3 as my conts were coming to an end, on the 20th Oct I got a call saying it was being processed and she needed to ask a question (I was impressed at their speed)
A few days later I got a letter dated the 20th October saying my conts were due to end etc.
My conts ended on the 2nd Nov and I then get a letter telling me how much I will be getting on IB which is fine and as expected but I expected it sooner.
Today I got another letter telling me I received 182 conts but this does not affect my money as I am receiving the amount the government says I need to live on.
So they have sent me 3 letters each with the appeal leaflet and details of how to appeal etc.
Surely they could have sent 1 letter on the 20th telling me that my conts are ending but as I have sent my jsa3 they have awarded me X amount and that I have had 182 days conts based.
I am aware that not everyone will be aware their conts are ending but surely even then a reminder letter then another detailing their award and how many days conts they had used.

Its amazing the waste that the job centre create. Shocking in fact.
Friend of mine who was unemployed - got 3 letters the same day explaining about his crisis loan, when it started, the amount they would take each week, and then the final letter was a list of the start and end dates. I know they pay for bulk in postage and at preferrable rates but this is amazing because of the paper and envelope costs.
They do this for just about everything he was saying too.. Someone needs to fix up a way to be smart about these things nowadays whether electronically or pick up in the JC."If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0 -
Yup some of them are a waste of space!! I had letter last week saying no jsa, not enough contributions..worried sick about it then get letter today saying I can get jsa. I have applied for loads of jobs but with good qualifications and 20yrs exp. I guess I am too expensive....I'm NOT coz I would work for a lower rate but I am getting no where (I am a nursery nurse, higher level teaching assistant) I appreciate that schools have limited budgets but oh!!!! Grrr seeing TA job adverts asking for nvq2 or just enthusiams Grrr what did I study for?????0

It seems to be the standard with any government / council communications. I guess it's a product of bureaucracy. I've had very similar stories with the DVLA and with council tax changes!Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0

It is not just the money but the environment, I actually worked for the Jobcentre and they started going on about saving energy and going green.
Yet they do this?0 -
If we didn't have such a large contingent of lifelong wasters in this country the job centre would have to have been a lot more prudent by now as its budgets would have been a lot less. I blame the f3ckless wonders who've never worked and the successive governments that have facilitated their sedentary lifestyles.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. The letters you received were automated. It takes far less time and hence money to do it this way than to tailor letters to individual circumstances.0 -

The last 2 could be tailored to all be included in 1 letter though? they don't need to send 3 pieces of paper just to tell me that I have used 182 days of conts.0 -

They could, but as not everyone would be entitled to IB JSA it would mean creating different variations of letters. Far simpler to have two letters for the avoidance of doubt.0
