Is Nokia still the best for handsets?

Yes and no in my opinion.....I still love Nokia, but nothing after the 6230i. The Series 60 software phones like the N70, N73 etc are sloooow and not as nice user interface, the latest Series 40 phone, the 6233 was an unpopular dog, which has been unsuccessful.
So if you're happy with a 1.3mp camera phone, but without all the latest bells and whistles, the 6230i would serve you well.0 -
Nokia or sony ericsson i would say are the best in my book, ive got the nokia 7390 and yes its 3mp but the photos are fantastic best ive seen from a phone camera next best would be the s.e w800i which is 2mp my sister has one and the photos are good, ive had a few nokias 6270 and then the 6111 both providing camera phone results and then i tried the s.e w710i and the photos were worse that a 1mp 6111 but it had a 2mp camera.
Everyone has there own opinions on phones so it really is down to personal taste. The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
4 out of 5 of us in my family have ditched our Nokias for Sony Ericssons. The interface is just slightly more intuitive and the designs have (usually) been lighter and just feel nice (with the exception of the W300i which is a bit tacky)! Battery life is better, too.
My DD has just got a SE K610i with 2mp camera, which is excellent."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0 -
I'd say Nokia for ease of use and Sony Ericsson for features.
However the Nokia N95 coming out soon does look very good, but the battery life will be poor due to all the features.
Both are good makes and are head an shoulders above their competition imo. Smile, you only get one life, LIVE IT.0 -
Sony Ericsson all the way in my opinion!
Ive got the K800i and the W850i
My other 1/2 has the K800i
My lil bro has the W810i
everyone who i work with (at ornage) have a sony ericsson
nokias have gone down hill really since the 6230i - i have heard that they will be pulling out of the europe market but i dont know whether this is true or not0 -

agreed. i have a K700i and a k750i. and i know quite a few people with SE phones and only one that has a nokia
i think that they have gone downhill from the 6230i as well0 -
the nokia 6280 is FINALLY fully functional and is a great phone. there have been countless software updates but is a great functional phone, all the 6230i features and more.
infact, the 6230i was far worse than the original 6230 as it was **much** slower depite having a better screen & camera.
Sadly, sony ericsson phones usually last little longer than a year with moderate use, physically that is.
In general, the industry has been plagued with reliability issues in the last 2 years as the technology has developed on the wider consumer market.
Stick with nokias if you are used to using them. Avoid the N series as they work off a different user interface. Another tip, they tend to come out with the manufacturers own software profiles as a default. change this to the nokia ones in the settings menu. much easier to use.0 -
I also agree with previous posters. I had nokia for 4 years and since 6230i, none of the models are good. So I have gone with w810i and love it more lot more than 6230i. Also, Sony models have very good battery life.0
