Upgrading an Orange phone, PERK Question

Hey,
My phone got broken and I got 6 replacements for the handset and they all was faulty so when I rang up to get the 7th replacement my friend Simon at Orange said to me that he would take 24 months off my contract if I sent my phone back to Orange. They send me a bag to put the phone in and send back with proof of postage and everything and Simon's going to ring me tonight. Question is that i'm going to be put into my upgrade period of my contract so if I went instore and upgraded tonight like I intended would I keep my PERK discount which was added when my mum took her sister with her to the Orange shop with her when I got my Torch
