Big bt bill

submited to online billing last year to save a pound but it seems i ve spent a fortune- and all my fault
for few months i sort of neglected not seing the bill , then when i needed the bill it didnt help that bt had taken my email wrongly when registred and it took ages to finally manage online .. i m on option one with 10 mb allowance though got 2 tenants upstais so the allowance has been greately exxceded, actually smashed! 90-100 mb, and only last week i recieved first warning from bt ''you are exceeding your broadband usage ''
thing contract ends in 30 nowember, and i just renewed on 30 of october after getting a discount of 5 quid for broadband..
i wonder can i still cancel or its the case of so many in here who fall easily for the bt s sharp terms and conditions?
looking to go elsewhere on unlimited broadband as much cheaper

If you've renewed then you are in contract for another year now-so if you think that the overusage will continue, then your only real option is to upgrade to one of the 40GB or unlimited tariffs.
Why are BT T&C's 'sharp'? They clearly state a 10GB cap on the cheapest package, which you've greatly exceeded. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
already went for the unlimited one , 40 gb doesnt do much use since i m going 90 gb every month
sharp as hell since you cant change your mind even next day they told me , even though it was a rolling contract not a new one .
The telesales man who signed me for another year, must have been overjoyed thinking of giving me a discount of 5 pounds and then getting 50 pounds a month extra .
he could see the account on screen and i was 8 months without seing it
they agreed to refund about 100 though since my enquiries trying to get in to my online account dated back in may and both paswords they sent me didnt work +their quarterly emails never arrived to my inbox...
strange first 3 months arriving then they say being sent to ''slightly diferent address''0 -
Correct, there is no cooling off period on a contract extension.
But you must have known what the charges were even without bills,, as you would have seen these reflected in your bank statements when they took the DD's.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
i didnt somehow, got 9 direct debits and all except bt are taken on the first of the month..my eye got used to looking at these 8 and only started when i needed my bt bills for my business, which yes its my mistake but anyway, doen and dusted... more upset as i paid the bt line for 12 months last year so i can save few pounds and negotiated for broadband,,,just to find out i m paying a fortune for it0

maybe worth getting your tenants to chip in for the usage..... 90gb is a lot of data... they may be completely clear but normally people who use 90gb month in month out are downloading things they really should be paying for. And that's marked againt YOUR IP address0

Never, ever supply broadband to tenants. Leave them to sort it out themselves. Not just because of this, but because of the legal implications if they get up to mischief online - you don't want to be the account holder and person held responsible0

thanks for advice Mark hadnt thought of that.
contract finishing in 2 months so, from january infinity just for me0 -
id change the password and tell them because of there excessive use and charges you are no longer prepared to pay for it0

Precisely-unless it's written into their STA then you are under no obligation to provide this facility. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
