She is just trying to make life easy for the company, most people don't know their rights I know I wasn't sure of them until another forum I read made me a moderator of a legal advise section. I really read alot of stuff like this to answer questions for members on there. Another tip ALWAYS pay with a credit card, some people belive it only protect you if the value is over £100 but ANY item paid in that way gives extra protection.

The tesco R+R stuff also promoted me to find out my rights.

When you get your xbox back can I suggest you lye it down when playing it to prevent further problems, its not a guaranteed solution to heat problems but it can make things better. if the console is standing on its end the heat flows up heating the rest of the console, when lying down the heat reached the outer surface without heating the other components as much.

As for the XBOX, it was only ever used flat, not on it's side/end.
